The Bog Asphodel is a relatively common species in Northumberland National Park and is found on undisturbed bogs.

Like most bog plants, bog asphodel is small and you have to get down on hands and knees to fully appreciate its delicate yellow flowers.

In some areas this plant can give the effect of a yellow carpet.
